Steering Column cylinder and keys

I have one for the mines of 7173mustangs. When one looks for a replacement Mustang Cylinder AND keys, Ignition Switch, it states that the mustang should be manufactured before 5/14/1973. I have looked up, down, under stones, tree stumps and cannot find any information concerning this date. I can only speculate that this corresponds with the release of the 1974 Mustang II. Any ideas?

I don't know, but your reasoning sounds logical except I thought that they began building the upcoming years cars around September. This is certainly something to ponder. :idea:

It was a mid-year change to the end of the key switch and column

one lock set fits 1970 thru 5/15/73

next one fits 5/15/73 - 1975

These lock sets fit many ford cars not just mustangs
