I looked at the other threads on this subject but can't find the answer. Here is a copy of the build sheet. If I read correctly:

1. Drive shaft: violet, red, green, orange, red. Exactly where should these be spaced, how wide, what order, and starting from front or back?
2. Rear springs: orange, orange
3. Front springs: yellow, K (what color is K??!!)
4. Front sway bar: orange, violet
(I have never seen these colors on any sway bar before! Almost all of them are green and yellow. Same for the front springs. What gives!)?

I believe K is grey. Grey/Yellow stripe is the frt coil spring for 73 convertible w/351-2V, competition suspension and W and w/o P/S, but w/o AC.

Anghel Restorations has some really well done detailing guides.

I attached a detailing article written with Bob Perkins

429 Megasite shows driveshaft detailing as well.

This is probably no help whatsoever, but here is a pic of my car's build sheet and a pic of the original front spring where the colors can still be seen, white, pink, gold. On my car, I never bothered to redo the daubs except on the front springs. Some are still visible on the driveshaft.

Others have already mentioned some really helpful tips. I redid the paint markings on my driveshaft and rear axle based on the original found markings, others based from literature about drivetrain combinations and their exact markings or my buildsheet. I simply used some paint brushes of different width and DIY paint, mixed where needed, painting free hand:

Wow. Very nice Tim!

This might lead you somewhere, or not. Without an intact build sheet and a LOT of help from concours builders it is very difficult to get it right. The best method is to slowly clean every piece at disassembly and note the colors and locations. Even then, aging and oil can discolor many colors.
