Multiple Mustangs!
This hub cap is NOS and for a pretty special model of Mustang. Can anyone tell me what it was, year and  model? I found several over the years and a close friend has a fastback.

NOTE THAT IT DOES NOT SAY MUSTANG ON THE CENTER CAP.

Hey John, I almost bought one back in the 70s, but it was only a six and back then in my youth, all I wanted was a V8. Those Groovy Editions were built in the Metuchen plant sponsored by the Medford Ford dealership in Medford NJ. I don't know how many they made. You don't see them around and I was born and raised in Central New Jersey. They came with hubcaps but I can't remember if these were the ones.

David, I am thinking since they do not have the words Mustang on them, they are for an export like a T5.

Rackerm is right on with his suspension on no Mustang on the center cap. This is a 1964 1/2 1965 T-5 standard hub cap. Anything for a T-5 is difficult to locate. The gas cap did not have mustang nor did the horn ring. Kilometer speedo also. The fender badges said T-5 and were made from Mercury Comet rear side emblems that had the sticker changed.

I found this one at the Charlotte swap meet a few years back and got for $10.00 he thought some kind of knock off of the ford since it did not say Mustang. I found some of the side emblems for 65 at a Mustang show in Tenn. and got them. I have a couple of the T-5 dash emblems for the 71 - 73. There is a 72 T-5 Mach 1 sitting in the back yard I can hear it rusting now.

A good friend found a 65 fastback T-5 here in Hendersonville in 1976 for $800 and I painted it for him. His son still has a collector from Tenn. came and offered him $25,000 for it and he said no. Pretty good gain from $800. We never did find the right gas cap or horn ring and the speedo had been changed to mph. The owners manual was still in the glove box with the dealers stamp in Munich Germany. Stamped over the Mustang name of the front of the owners manual was "In recognition of trademark rights in West Germany T-5". T-5 was the code name for Mustang during design and development.

So now you have more useless information taking up space in your brain, lol. If you do see any T-5 items they will sell on eBay quick.

I heard one story that the Truck / bicycle company in Germany wanted $10,000 for the trademark rights in Germany so Ford said no and did the T-5. I years past the quit and now just use Mustang.

There is a group that Gary Hanson put together for the T-5 register. How they got back here was usually military. Our guys in Germany would buy car there and the government would ship back to U.S. for $1.00 yes one dollar. Sort of a token charge. You find them near military bases. I found a 72 and 73 Q code T-5 vert in Atlanta a couple years back. He found them in Columbia, S.C. and there is big Army base there.

As soon as I saw it I knew was from a '64-1/2 or '65, I had one of each, but didn't think about the T-5 thing and Ferrari, so the blank center had me scratching my bald head.

David, I believe Rackerm got that spot on! Had a suspicion but wasn't sure. Any T5's I dealt with were newer models. Just may be how it looks on my monitor, but that wheel cover looks small. I know the very early 64/65 Mustangs had 13" wheels standard unless a performance model. Is there a stamping on the cover or have you ever measured them?

It could be a 13" but the centers are the same. My friends had 14" but his was a 289. The Export brace that Shelby used was on all Export model mustangs. They had heavier springs usually and 72 models all got rear window defogger as standard.

I have been keeping an eye out for the container with the NOS emblems for them but have not found yet. Too much stuff for sure.

Here is a pic of a nice green one. You can see the side emblem on front fender.

I found a picture once of a 1964 1/2 T-5 fastback made at Ford but cannot find it again.

Here is info on the Mach 1 T-5

It would not get the dash decal since it has gauges.
