Do any of you happen to know if the ribbon tach uses the same type of movement as the 71-73 mustang tach? I just picked one up and it has 3 wires, so I'm thinking it does not use the same technology.

Originals only have 2 wires. The movement is not common to any other Ford tach. Can you post some pictures?
I had not looked at it closely and just saw that it has your label with S/N 5506 from 7/21/20. I consider that an added bonus.
