If you run across one with 3.50 gears, 28 spline, open or locked, I'd be interested.  I'm thinking the 3.50s would be a blast with my AOD - a bit more fun than the factory 3.00s, but I'm pretty happy for now... still would like to have a set of 3.50s loaded up ready to go for after I get the fuel injection installed and decide to burn through the Cobras. ;)

I'm also assuming that my '71 H-Code with axle code '6' came with 28-splines, rather than 31.

3.89s are just a little too 'digger gears' for my liking.  Good luck with the sale!

This ring gear has 35 teeth and pinion has 9 teeth for a ratio of 3:89.if you have a 10 tooth pinion gear, you will have 3:50 ratio.just a thought.

Pull a hubcap, I think the 31 spline has three dots as apposed to a 28 which is a dash.

That 3.89 would be fun with my M-code and Toploader.

Got my 3.50 traction-loc from Don of OMS.

Ring and pinion gears are matched. A 10 tooth pinion gear will not mate to a ring gear made for a 9 tooth pinion. The pinion diameters are different and the ring gears are a different thicknesses.
