Does anyone know an online retailer that sells those trunk filler panels? It's the cutout that makes the trunk flat from where it drops off. I can't find anywhere that sells them for our years. They do for 64-68 but nothing after that. I guess these are on the list of "rare" parts...

Are you talking about some pieces that lay over the lower quarter panel voids on each side?

Nobody actually makes those - except for whomever makes the trunk carpet kit sold by various vendors. They make a version that has their carpet attached to give the impression of a flat trunk all the way across.

Your best bet is to get some poster board, make some templates, and cut your own out of some masonite, thin plywood, or similar materials.

Austin Vert (Greg) has one of the nicest trunks around - and he's got a ton of pictures showing what he did to get it there - excellent craftsmanship and looks pretty dang cool as well. http://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-austin-vert-s-trunk-makeover-project

Hope that helps!

That is one sweet trunk...so you're saying the carpet kits come with a piece that makes it flat? I did not know this but if that's the case I'd just wait till I carpet the trunk.

Pedstagn, did you have the filler panels in there before the carpet? What material do they use on the bottom of the carpet to keep that flat piece supported from the trunk floor to quarter panel?
