1973 Mustang Grande 351C 2V, built on the very last production day (July 6, 1973) for Grande's.
Hi folks,

I’ve started inspecting the hood I bought and I’m feling even better about it now. However I did find this stuff inside:

It feels like chalky sand and some seems to be left in random places.

Does it look like any material used on cars? What could it be?

Might be some kind of blast media someone used. Put some vinegar on some and see if it fizzes might be soda. Parts blasted with soda are much more difficult to prep for paint. You have to remove and kill all traces of the soda or it keeps bleeding out of the paint.

If soda check on the internet there are products made just for cleaning the soda residue off.
