In the process of a full interior make over of my 1972 Mach 1, I ran across this pressure switch built into the passenger seat.

I cannot find this switch in the 1972 wiring manual posted on this site.  (The manual stops at page 9.  I believe there should be more pages.  The radio is not shown either.)

What is it for?

Why only under the passenger seat?

My Mach has two connectors under each seat.  One connector is for the auto seat latch solenoids.  (found on schematic)

The other connector would be for this pressure switch.

Why doesn't the driver seat have this switch also?

Anybody know what's up?

The driver side doesn't need one because there will always be a driver in the car. System will continue to buzz until the driver puts the seatbelt on when the car is in gear.

Thank you very much Cleveland Coupe and John!

I noticed when testing it that sometimes when pressure is off the seat, the switch doesn't always open.  Should be interesting when it's all back together.

I'll check the schematic again, now that you've clued me in.
