Ok, I'll bite. It may just be the angle of the shot, but the rear bearing cap doesn't look right.

How did you get the timing chain off without pulling the cam gear off was it broke? Looks like lots of miles. Looks like H code engine.

Very late (1A251xxx Vin)71 Torino M-code engine I pulled from a 71 Cougar parts car. Three burned exhaust valves, ran like complete poo. Lots of copper showing on the bearings, it had some sort of trauma in the past as it had a chrome oil pan and a very worn out replacement timing chain with a mile of slop. Luckily, the bores are beautiful and hopefully will clean up with only a .010" cut.

I put the cam gear back on to remove the cam, lots easier with a little something to hold onto.

Probably going to the machine shop next week, want to beat the winter roundy-pounder engine build rush that happens every year.
