wheel well trim

what are some of you guys opinion on the look of the wheel well trim? to do or not to do that is the question!

My car came with it. It has saved me from a number of dings. But when i repaint i will remove them.

My car came with it and the rocker moulding, I took mine off a while ago to take care of some surface rust.

Since the car has been painted I'm thinking I might put them back on I find myself looking at old pics of the car and thinking it looked pretty good with the trim on it.
