If it will fit a small bearing 9" rear end, then it will fit an 8" rear end. The ends are the same.
Jeff knows his sh*t. He always gives great input on all the cool sh*t...::thumb::
Thank you, I try not to display my ignorance, apparently it is working on a few people ;)

Today was another day of testing my will power. I picked up a set of these medium tube headers. I say this because I know long tube are preferred to get max HP but this way I get a good signal for the Wideband O2 sensor being closer to the engine. After all these years Im aiming not to smell like a gas station. Also I get a tighter fit under the car for clearance since we're going low. I don't mind giving up a few hp. To me anything over 400 is good because this car is all about the joy of driving. It's purpose built for the road. Truth be told, with all the big money cars around these parts I've been hearing more complaining about the drivability of these big hp cars than I ever thought I'd hear. It's as if anything under 650hp doesn't get a second look and yet you can't sneak up on the pedal to save your life. It's s catch 22. Lol. You build it like you can't get enough and then it's " why did I go so far". Now, I'm only speaking about what I've seen here in the 40-60 yr olds. At 20 years old you could strap a rocket to my back and I was ready for two. It wasn't easy to pull back since with the same money I could have built a 550 hp screamer, which don't get me wrong, fun!! Just not every day and not in traffic. I drive my cars to my shop and back every nice day for the 6 months of good weather we get. So if I'm down to 425 then I'll have to make sure it hooks ya.

They look sweet mate.

Couldn't agree more. My current ride (73 Mach) was built with the same objective in mind. Cleveland stroked to 408 netted 425 hp/448 tq to the wheels and, to me, it is perfect. I drive it anytime the road is dry, winter and summer. As soon as I wear out the current tires, I'll address the hooking up part.

It would be nice to not smell like a gas station but I kinda like it. :D

Lol. It should be a cologne. Motor sounds like a sweet set up. If you manage to make it hook it will feel like so much more when your not roasting tires. A true 400 put to the ground will throw the car

So true. My wife does not like riding in the 73 because of that fact

After 20 years I finally get it. I want NASTY!! but on tap. Lol. I figured that if I could configure tire size with the gear ratio with the tranny specs and the engines power band with about 400-450hp, with a little planing youd make snappy power. Then add fuel injection and tuneable exhaust you have a winning combination. A Nasty sounding responsive street machine when you want it and when the exhaust is silenced, you have a sexy streetable, fuel sipping cruiser that probably won't stink up your suit for a family function. Or wake up your neighbours on a beautiful early Sunday morning. Nothing new about what I'm saying. The only thing that makes it a blast for me that I'm so looking forward to is this "Jeckle and Hyde" muffler as I like to call it. Found it in Austrailia and found a dealer here in Quebec Canada. Ordered them up yesterday. They are basically what the "sport" or "race" button on all these exotic cars use. Dump flaps in the muffler. You can run them with a FI, something that manages your air/fuel mixture so your never running fat and stink up the joint or too lean. That's why this week I've nicked a jugular dumping coin for the FI and the shorty headers.

Yeah...lol...the Firestone Firehawks on it now are like bricks. No traction...but fun donuts!!! There's always a bright side! ;)

That's funny. Do they still even make those tires??

I also ordered this Hydramax hydraulic clutch system. Anyone have it in their car. How are you liking it?
Sadly I won't be giving any updates on how this system works. I was just informed by the good people at American Powertrain that the brackets for 71-73 are not available at the moment and won't be for some time.

Just googled it, yes they're still made but they're are all season, (this car never sees moisture) and has that 500 wear rating which means they're bricks. (I'm sure you know this) I'm currently teaching myself how the 90° turn with tires ablazing is different on pavement than on an icy road, which I had mastered as a kid...gotta keep the tires unhooked throughout the entire turn and complete the directional change prior to rehooking. Good stuff. I love "going to dunkin to get a coffee." :run_horse:

This vid clip should give you a good idea of the nasty open setting and the quieter than stock closed setting. Touch of a button on a fob ( 2 seconds from closed to wide open). Not to mention how deep and throaty it sounds. I chose the Camaro over the Mustang because the engine is a single cam and not dual cam. Closer in sound to an engine we'd have in our classic mustang. ENJOY‼️

I was thinking about something, does the rear calipers looks like the calipers for the front brakes as in the picture? Do you have any link to them where you can buy them? How about parking brake ? :)
Front and back are the same. 13" front 12" back. "The right stuff" sells kits but my friend here makes the adaptor brackets. He is making 9" small bearing brackets for me now because he only developed the kit for big bearing so far. I can find out for you if he will ship out to you if your interested.

image.jpegHi guys. I'm at my shop working on a Sunday and I cannot help but walk into the side where the car is. The more I look at it the more of a trick on the eyes it plays. It looks so long, which I love, but I finally had to measure and compare it to other cars. This is what I found. With the rear of the car touching the back wall of the shop, the farthest point is still the front bumper at exactly 16ft.

image.jpegCompared to a 2016 M5 I'm nearly 1.5" shorter.

image.jpegCompared to a 2016 Challenger I'm a full 6" shorter and 9" lower. Did not expect those numbers. I'm even a 1/2" shorter than a '16 Honda Accord sedan.
