Anyone have any tips on removing the wiper arms?
I know in my 70 Torino there was a little tab you had to press to remove the arm. And they were extremely hard to remove because of age.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

There is a small hole near the base of the wiper, just beyond where the wiper pivots up. Lift up the wiper arm and put the shaft of a pop rivet into that hold. This will hold the wiper in the "up" position, which is where it needs to be to be removed. With it in that position, you can then grasp the base of the wiper arm and wiggle it back and forth as you pull up on it to remove it.

I would suggest wearing a full face helmet with the visor down when removing the wiper arms. They can leave a mark if you don't. Wanna guess how I know? Kidding, a little bit. Chuck

I agree with RIBS. If moving the retaining tab/latch does not let you pull the arm off the pivot shafts, the wiper arm removal tool ought to get it done. You still need to put the retaining tab/latch into its "release" position before beginning to pull the arms off their pivot shafts. I had to do that once when years of corrosion built up between the pivot splined shafts and the wiper arm splined sockets, both arms had to be pulled using the removal tool. It worked perfectly.
