The two spades are part of the AC system, and the circular plug plugs into an emissions-related sensor and can be ignored.

Thanks mid life! But where on the AC system would they connect?
I have two green with purple wires connected to the temp selector arm switch.
So I don’t see anything else to connect these wire to.

There's the de-icer and the AC mode switch. I don't know which go where...but I suspect the ones in question are further away from the heater control switch itself.

They are fit the de-icer is what I’m thinking

The attached file is the 1973 Mustang Color Chart for wiring, where the various wire colors and markers are correlated to the circuit(s) they associate with. Hopefully that will help clarify things.
