I ordered a set of Daniel Carpenter reproduction hinge covers for the front seats. However they are not correct and missing the molded tab on the back that expands when the screw is tightened into the hinge...like a dry wall anchor. All of the eBay used hinge covers have broken expansion tabs.

Are there reproduction hinge covers with the correct tabs on the inside?

My car is in early 71 with a build date of December 1970.

I am going through the same thing. Daniel Carpenter advertises that their parts are made from the "original molds" Not in this case. Totally worthless. I thought I was missing something, but it sounds like I am not alone. There is no way to mount them without doing some type of fabrication. Maybe some kind of insert that mounts to the metal hinge? Maybe you could tack weld a nut on the hinge, or use a tap and tap the existing hole, but then the screw or bolt used would not be original. Maybe you could glue them on? Very frustrating to order parts and find out they don't fit. Let me repeat DO NOT Buy these and expect to screw them on, like the originals.

Just confirming that you know the early 71 MY hinge covers are different than later 71 through 73. I don't think the early ones are reproduced and they are hard to find.
