My Car
73 Q code Mach 1, C6, original owner
I have a 351C with an Edelbrock 1406 and a C6 automatic. I’m having a heck of a time hooking up my kickdown rod to the carb. If someone could please post a nice close up of your setup, it would be greatly appreciate. Thanks

My 1405 and C4 302 required an intermediate Edelbrock linkage part added to side of carb and a 2 inch extension of the kickdown lever, Edelbrock sells both as add on parts…this also moved the throttle cable out over the valve cover, and a new throttle cable bracket was hand crafted….or you can pay more than the cost of the Carb for a LOKAR kickdown, throttle and gas pedal setup.

Thanks for your reply, but I really need to see how those are attached to the carb and transmission kickdown rod. If you are able, could you please take a picture with your phone ( close up) and post here. I have all the adapters, but I have been unable to make them work properly. I really need to SEE how yours is attached if possible. TIA

I have cleaned mine up a bit since this and my throttle cable bracket is custom, the kickdown adapter attaches to linkage, and the rod tension connects to it, and the throttle cable connects on the very outside using ball….it needs a redo to clean up position and angle but you get the idea….

Thanks so much for the pictures. Between these and a write up from a Ford truck forum on the web, I believe I’ve got the flick finally.
