Rear main seal leaking on motor I had built about 10 years ago. I assumed having not actually put any miles on it and only the occasional start over the years that the seal had dried and this was my punishment for not finishing my project. Dropped center link and pan and was able to get things out. First surprise was the seal ends were not staggered, thought this was common practice. Today I managed to get the cap out and when I pulled the seal I found the dreaded pin still in tact. Yiu can clearly see where it punctured seal.
I paid big money for what was and is supposed to be one of the best guys around. Definitely disappointed to say the least.
Is it worth paying him a visit or am I overreacting?
Should I put anything on the block seal before hopefully sliding the new one in place?
Thanks
