Can someone help me with the proper color codes? My car didnt have a dash speaker or a radio in it when purchased. Ive also installed speakers in the rear package tray.
Thank you for your help!

Dash speaker had a pigtail that plugged directly into a matching pigtail on the radio, so if the speaker is gone, so is the wiring. Pic below is from the 71 wiring diagram. Full diagram available for download in the Wiki.

Radio power connector is a two place female rubber connector.
Light blue w/red stripe is radio illumination
White w/purple stripe is switched power.
Radio grounded through the chassis, so you'll need to pick up a ground on the dash frame etc.

Thank you very much Hemikiller, I'll start digging around in there.

Hey guys, I'm in the process of trying to reconnect an original radio.

Unfortunately, all the plugs have been removed, and my OEM stereo radio has different colors than I find in my 73 Mustang. Can you guys help me match up the wires accordingly? Attached are pictures of the radio and wiring as they currently look.

From 1 to 9. Can you please help me to order it the right way?

3 = etc.

Appreciate your help! Thank you so much.
Ben

Thanks, the knobs are similar to the Cougar models. So I think it's a 74 cougar radio.

Anyway, I connected the wires by images I found on the web, and it worked very well.

Thanks @Hemikiller for your response.
Ben
