Very, very nice.
Very nice! Great attention to detailI guess you can say I chickened out on the EFI, I never was sure I wanted to attempt it in the first place, to be honest. The Aeromotive tank with the built in electric fuel pump has been on back order for a while and last week they said they still didn't have a promise date. I took that as a sign the EFI wasn't meant to be. I ordered a conventional fuel tank, a mechanical fuel pump and a 650 double pumper carb. These are all more in my comfort zone anyway. Also, the engine was run on a 650 double pumper on the dyno, so I know how that will perform. None of my toys have ever had EFI but I was thinking I would attempt it for drivability sake on this car.
Anyway, now that the Christmas and New Year's festivities are over I got back to work on the car. I got the tank and fuel pump installed and started installing the carb yesterday. I also started installing the heater hoses and control valve and the trans dipstick. Just trying to install all of the little things I will need to get the car started. I installed the filler neck and gas cap temporarily, to keep the tank clean inside when transporting to and from the exhaust shop. In the next few weeks, weather permitting, I plan to send it out for the exhaust and then get it back in the garage and get it started.
I did confirm that the MSD distributor is WAY too tall for the Ram Air air cleaner to fit, I am going to order a Pertronix stock look distributor. Guys on this forum have said they fit fine with Ram Air and haven't had any problems with them.
Unfortunately, once the car is running I will have no excuse not to work on body work and paint, LOL. That is not my favorite thing, I am much more comfortable with the mechanical, but I won't have the mechanical to use as an excuse any more.
