Am looking for a nice original or NOS 429CJ Oil Pan and Timing Cover.  The timing cover is a c8 part number.   The timing cover I have has been welded previously and the oil pan has quite a few large dents from the inside out (guessing a rod came loose, but didn't puncture the pan.   

 
I went through this on the timing cover a few tears back when I was rebuilding my original 429 engine. My original timing cover had a hole on the backside, apparently common with theses covers… Like you, I wanted the correct C8 part number. Ther were many D… number covers available, the C8’s are becoming harder to find in good shape. I did find an NOS Cover in 2016, I think I paid a $100 for it. Luckily, my oil pan was in pretty good and indented shape. Can’t say that about the rest of the engine… I’m sure there are C8’s covers out there, post on the Ford Engine BB engine sites too.

As a side note, The only dented part on my car today is the original gas tank… It was  so clean inside, I decided, the hell with it, I’m going to keep the original tank on the car, battle scars and all…

Chuck, you possess some serious search skills or have some great contacts. I have a few that have always provided me with some great results, but lots of zeros this time!
Many of these parts, especially for performance models, are becoming increasingly difficult to find in OE configuration as these cars continue to age! I feel lots of oil pans were discarded with "ventilation" holes in them and busted front covers.
There is an early version oil pan used on the 429 Police, CJ-SCJ (D0OZ-6675-B), but for some reason was only used through 12/70. The replacement was the D0OZ-6675-D which was also a baffled pan like the "B." Surprisingly, the "D" pan was in the Ford parts system until the C8SZ-6675-A replaced it in 1/87. The C8SZ pan was used on the 429 T-Bird and 460 Lincoln Mark III when the 385 series engines debuted for the 1968 model year. And to think I whined when I had to pay $56.55 for a new Ford pan for my 429 Torino. (Hear that song "If I Only Knew Then What I Know Now).
I sure hope it's the pan Mike needs, and the requested pictures verify it.

The C8SZ-6019-A (C8SE-A, B) front cover is almost in the extinct category. Many were damaged by removing seized bolts during timing chain or water pump replacements. The replacing D2VZ-A (D2VB-AA) show up occasionally but are becoming harder to find new. The final 460s in the car line were production installed in '78, so any further replacements would be sourced from the truck 460. That took place in '85 when the E5TZ-6019-A replaced the D2VZ-A. There have been multiple replacements since, far too many to list here.

Steve, I found that source many years ago from an almost random search. I have found many bits of unobtainium in his stash. He is a very nice and honest person. Chuck

Thanks, and lot of good info here.    I have a D2 on the shelf. and three C8s still on current project engines, but am hoping I don't have to rob one of those (but I could) because I would still have to find one down the road, which will be even harder.  Hopefully I will get those pictures early this week so I can see if it is in good shape.  

I looked at the $75 C8 cover on ebay already, and other than the thin material, it looks like a bolt is seized in one hole.   I am going to see if I can find a better one (missed the one from last week at $175).  Mine has been welded, but would work, just would like to find a nicer one as I am not sure of the porosity of the previous repair.   

 
Something I've done, when I wanted to make sure there is no porosity in unknown welds, is to coat the area by brazing over it, easy to see that there is complete coverage.
