I looked at this today, it is not my car. Someone may be interested. If you are email me at [email protected]. Original engine is there but rod through the pan, 4 speed is there, very few options but very little rust or body damage, wrong hood, glass is not broken. He is a bit high at $4500 and seems to be firm although I did not really try to negotiate much. Chuck

Chuck, do you know if this Mustang still has[/align] the original 3.50 Traction Lok, rear end?

BT
I did not get the car up high enough to check the tag or rotation. However, my source books say axle A decodes as 3.50 open and S as 3.50 traction-lok. Chuck

Duh, the old eyes have once again deceived me. LOL

BT, I understand the problem:). The car has very little rust, the cowl is good, no rot in the shock towers, trunk is good, I don't even think the floor pans are bad. The only rust through I found was the trunk drops and a small portion of the quarter where it meets the drop. If the block is good the rest of the engine is all original down to the emissions equipment, carb is even correct (dist. has been replaced at some point). The car was obviously ordered as a no frills go fast car. Why it has an open rear end is beyond me. He is high on price right now but who knows what 35 $100 bills on the hood of the car would do. There is a big part of me that loves the "sleeper cars" or "Q' ships as we used to call them. It is a good thing I'm out of garage space or the budget department might be very upset with me. Chuck

Chuck - sleeper?

I have a ZERO rust 71 M code Grande for you

I appreciate you thinking of me. I am half way serious about finding a 67,68,or 69 coupe to provide a home for a nearly complete drivetrain I have. I'd love to build a 66 Cyclone GT but it would take more play dollars than I have at the moment. So, if you run across something let me know.

I note the Torino-style hubcap up front instead of the base wheel cover too. Any story behind that?

-Kurt
That is the dog dish cap used on Mustangs 70-73 just without a trim ring. That is what came on Dad's Boss 351, His 73 Sportsroof and his h code 73 mach 1.

The dog dish is what my Mach had from new.moon setting 001.jpg

Interesting. I'd never seen one close enough to realize it's not a full hubcap, but a very deep trim ring. I'm used to seeing more than just a bit of rim poking out.
