My Car
1972 R Code HO Mach 1
1973 Q Code Convert 4sp
I got this car in 2021 after a guy put a lot of money in it turning it into a bit of a Street Outlaw car with a 408 Stroker and a five speed Tremec. The car was mechanically all new but appearance was rough but no rust. It had been a California car. He shipped it to me from Orlando area and sent the original trans and numbers matching engine with it.
I ordered the Marti and unbelievably the car was one of 293 produced in 1973 with the 351 CJ 4 speed combination. Since then we have gone through the car and put the original motor back it and left the Tremec. Have a NACA hood but have not painted it yet. Having fun with the current look.
Rebuilt numbers matching engine
5 speed Tremec
New suspension
New Brakes
New interior w/ Dakota dash/bluetooth
Vintage Air
New Canvas Top / glass window
New TA radials and rims
Borgeson Steering conversion
Paint work on hood door jams, trunk,
bumpers
Took it down to Detroit Autorama Mar '23 and entered it with my '71 M code 4speed. I was the first car in the hall!
We took two second place finishes. It was a great show.
Next I will post about the R Code project.

lots of questions. What sort of finish is on the inside of your panels, I have quite a bit of surface rust and would like to know 2024 solutions. I see you have a CJ sticker on the air cleaner,is that something that is available with just 351 4V,? Folks on this site have advised me that CJ title was not afforded to 1973 models..love the sticker by the way. My email since the dawn of internet is
[email protected] sayin..anyways would love to do a better job protecting the unseen parts of the car now. 21 years in garage. with that, she is back from 3 years slow restore where the fellow never did insides of doors or back seat support framing..If you can help with any of this please reach out with this site or more personalbe the email.

Rust Bullet products work well on door interior surfaces as well as seat frames, floors, etc. Be sure to look in your trunk for hidden surfaces where rust can form. My car spent all but the last few years in the desert Southwest. The underside of the tops of the rear fenders, inside the trunk, were covered with surface rust. Ford didn't bother with out of sight areas like this. Taking the time to address these will help your car survive a few more years.
