3 point seat belts

I'm planning on installing a set of 3 point seat belts on the front of my 72 Mach I I am working on. Which ones are the best? I'm sure they probably all mount the same but want to make sure I have something that looks like it belongs.

I went with these since they have the drop sash. Several members on here have said the drop sash make the belt position more comfortable so I took their advice.

I have some without the drop sash in a few old cars. They put the belt up around your neck. If I get in a wreck with those on, the seat belt will pop my head off.

I put some with the drop sash in my last car I did the swap on. Its much better. Its on my list to redo the belts in my black car. I'll get the ones with the sash, then move the ones without the sash to something else like an old truck where its not really needed.

You can install them either with the same anchor point or with an added one. It really depends on how they align so the rewind works without binding and which is comfortable for the occupants. I used these in my 70 Mach 1 and used the same anchor point.

The hardware kits are sold separately if you buy from Wesco Performance, so keep that in mind.

I did not need an additional anchor point on my '73. I did buy the hardware kit as well.

Wesco Performance are actually a reseller for Seatbelt Solutions.
Seatbelt Planet seem to be a bit better BUT they are all essentially the same, using the same retractor. That is what I found when I did mine.
I ended up constructing my own version using the belts material and retractors, then scrapping the semi-fixed tang and center belt and adding a free sliding tang and a wired center buckle. This means the belt work more like a newer car and a lot easier. Not perfect, I'll admit, but better than before.
The drop sash is a good improvement, but needs to be ordered along with the belt order. You also need to make sure you order the LONG "C" bracket that bolts behind the retractor.

On the sash drop, if anyone is looking to get the drop without replacing the belts or reworking your belts, you can use a bolt in seat belt extender to drop the shoulder point several inches. It's not quite as tidy the belts with the built in drop, but it gets the job done, it's cheap, takes a few minutes to install and looks factory enough that most people won't notice it. At some point I might 3D print a cover for it so it looks a little more OEM.
