302 engine install

I am planning to install my 302 and have a question . I pulled it many moons ago with exhaust manifolds , I have long tube headers and want to know , attach and install , lay them in engine bay or just install the engine first and then install headers ?

Depends on the headers. They're all shaped different.

I think the most fool proof is lay the headers in the engine bay and drop the engine in over them.
