My Car
1972 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE
I have a question im sure someone on here can answer, i recently bought a 68 429 thunderjet v4 engine stock , I was possibly thinking about putting it in my 72 convertible but it makes crazy torque, 460-485 stock i believe, will this car handle it or should i just put it in my rat rod?

ALLWELD488,

The 1971- 1973 mustangs were designed to take the big block engines. Recommend to look at what are the correct front coil and rear leaf springs for 429 type mustang. + 1 with will e.

Yes - 3 pieces each side

Look at Mustangs Unlimited, Autokrafters or Crites

Those early high compression TJ's run like MAD!

Back in '81, there was a whooped, bone stock '68-69 Thunderbird that ran very consistent 13.8's at our local strip.

On bald, skinny Goodyear NCT street radials.

I remember it well.

Impressive.
