ALL GRANDCHILDREN ARE VERY SMART.

I was eating lunch on the 20th of

February with my 8-year-old

Grandson and I asked him, "What day

is tomorrow?";

He said "It's President's Day!"

He is a smart kid.

I asked "What does President's Day mean?"

I was waiting for something about

Washington or Lincoln .... etc.

He replied, "President's Day is when

President Obama steps out of

the White House, and if he sees his shadow we have

one more year of unemployment."

You know, it hurts when hot coffee spurts out your nose.

That may be a state or school district thing. I have tomorrow off (I'm a high school VP) in honor of Presidents' Day, and will be spending it working on the 'vert.

I have it off, too. But I'll be catching up on stuff at the house since I've been at the shop every weekend since forever - plus, it's closed tomorrow anyway. ;)

Smart grandkid!

After I took the trash can out to the curb this morning my wife reminded me that today was a Federal and local Government holiday and the trash would not be picked up and also that's why she was home today. She wasn't happy with my response when I told her I lost track of all the holidays since I retired and I'm home everyday!

It's a retired person thing, It happens to me more than I'd like to admit. She should be glad that you remembered trash day and took it out! Chuck

Very good one Eric!! OK fellas, I was reading some editorial from a not-too-conservative type, and he made mention of the fact that Presidents Day was to honor ALL Presidents... don't know about yall, but what I can recall from school was it was set up for Washington and Lincoln's birthdays. And, we never had the day off from school (Mardi Gras was more important)...

BTW, Happy Mardi Gras tomorrow everybody!!

This is absolutely GREAT!! I hope you don't mind me retelling about 15 times so far. It is especially funny for me as my oldest son's birthday is February 2nd, he loved it. Chuck

House time is important, too. As my wife often reminds me. LOL :D
Sounds familiar, Doc!

On the way home from work I called my dad, he said "What are you doing working on a Sunday!?!" I laughed and said "It's Monday, pop!"

Pfff...yeah, I was taught that too, but it seems that people these days make up whatever they want and call it fact.
