best correct windshield wiper blades

Hello all. I have spent the day trying to find the best, most correct, and best price (including shipping) for a set of TRICO 18" windshield wiper blades and I have been disappointed. Some that are advertised have gotten bad reviews because of a plastic connector (even though the picture shows a steel mount). I searched threads here and see nothing. Also, they should have been black, but all I can find are silver. Any ideas? Thanks. Kevin.

I'm running the original-ish looking Trico 31180 on my 71.They're more placeholders than anything, as I don't drive it in the rain. They do have a plastic retainer clip that I can see where people would have issues with removal. You use a pick or screwdriver to push down through the small hole and it releases the arm. At under $3/each, that's hard to beat. Rock Auto has around a dozen optios with conventional frame styles. Pick your poison.

How ironic! I spent some time today trying to figure out what to get. I am looking for the old fashioned blade refills but not the best of luck. I am rummaging around on ebay. Does anyone make the old fashioned refills?

Seems like rockauto may make more sense

My wiper arms look like this. Are these original Ford items? Maybe I will try to find the refills.

I went through the wiper dilemma a cpl months ago. I was amazed at the large plastic ones they were trying to sell me. I ended up buying them on Ebay. like 50 bucks 18" Trico wiper blades 1978-1973 Ford Mustang

Thanks Sherriff! I'll need to remember allclassic as a source for hard to find parts. $125 is pretty steep though for a pair of wiper blades. I bought two pairs of these off Ebay and got them in black. Still expensive but didn't break the bank. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304665698010. These will only be for if I take a car to a show. Thanks Hemi. Those are dirt cheap! Geezz, the shipping's more expensive than the blades, lol. I got to thinking and realized the only reason I need high dollar originals are if I show a car, which is almost never. I bought 2 pairs of these and I'll move them from car to car if I need to for show and use the ones you suggested for daily driving. https://www.ebay.com/itm/304665698010

Yes, those are original. I'm sure you can find the correct refills and that's what I'd do. Or you can use the ones Hemi recommended and sell the originals on Ebay probably for a nice profit.

Those are what I use and don’t “schedule” driving in the rain as well. I do however apply rain-ex once a month for the “just in case” here in SE WI so the trick is to drive just fast enough for beading while the TA’s stay planted firmly. The top goes up if speed can’t be maintained safely. Razors edge challenge. If I can’t avoid a douche, the REx and my hand activated intermittent wipers will let me see the way to my next objective. This has only happened twice in 12 yrs so to me, wipers are a very minor issue to deal with.

Here they are with pics next to the originals. I had to lightly file some rough edges so they would slide into the the holders

By the way, I wanted to share pictures of this eye candy that just arrived: two complete sets of correct black NOS Trico wiper blades with the correct Trico and Made in USA logs! There can't be many of these floating around today.
