Nicely done! You can't get much more period than those floor mats!
Lol. That's what I liked most about the car! I could literally write a book about this car. Here is a picture of the original receipt when they were purchased from the dealer on 7/2/73, the same day the car went into service. $18.66 was a lot back then. They were covered in two inches of acorn shells and sooo nasty! I ran them through the washing machine four times then scrubbed them down with "Tough Stuff" and they came out like new! Here's a pic of the carpet as well. the top one was the front after scrubbing and vacuuming them. They look like they are died but they are not.

🥳 Damn Kev... she looks marvelous! Happy 50th Birthday to Ms. Donna. What's the plan for her future??
Thanks Chris! This one is getting sold but I don't know where to post it yet. I need money too fund my many many projects and I need to make room for a car coming back from the paint shop. The car is not perfect, and I didn't take close up shots of minor problem areas. But if someone is looking for originality and some patina, this car is hard to beat. I was careful to only clean and detail the car and replace only those parts that needed to be replaced to get the car running and driving while keeping any of the removed parts. When I got the car every little thing on the car was original. The battery was the only original part missing from the car. Even two of the factory tires still held air! I can't see why this would not be an MCA Gold car with a little work. The car runs and drives like new, doesn't smoke, and there is not one drop of any kind of fluid leaking from anywhere under the car! That in itself is a miracle. I thought I would have to change out everything on the brakes, but all I did was flush the system with new brake fluid. Even the master cylinder is original and the car has a nice pedal feel.

Happy Birthday Ms Donna. Still beautiful after all those years.

The epitome of a resurrected "Barn find"!

What's that under a cover in photo beside it?
That's a 1976 Thunderbird. Randy F, who worked the Ford assembly line for 38 years in the suspension and brakes division, bought the Mustang in 1973 for his wife Donna to celebrate the birth of their first daughter. All the paperwork was in Donna's name. They bought the Thunderbird in 1976 to celebrate the birth of their second daughter and it became their new toy so the Mustang was very rarely driven after that.
