The choke on my Holley carb is not closing properly. The engine was rebuilt some 20+ years ago, and I believe the carb is 20+ years old as well.

Should I go ahead and just rebuild the entire thing? I've watched some videos and it doesn't look like it is something I can't handle. After 20+ years I would imagine that there are seals that would need to be replaced and other internals that should be checked over.

Thanks!

My freind rebuilds holleys quite a bit...With good results..He learned online pretty much too.

you need to watch it while cold, engine off. open the throttle with your hand and try to (gently) close the choke butterfly. if it closes easily, then you need to adjust the choke so it closes by it self. there are 3 screws around the black choke cover, just loosen those and it will turn....there is a spring inside...clockwise make the butterfly close (rich)
