Craigslist 73 Mustang

$17,000, allegedly a Mach 1 but it has a full vinyl roof (on a fastback!?!) and opera windows?

Doesn't look like a Mach 1 to me...looks like a plain-jane sportsroof with an aftermarket vinyl roof that somebody butchered with opera windows.

My intent is not to offend, but the ad seems seriously misleading. And $17,000 is crazy high.

No Mach 1 grill. There is two 73 Mach 1s around here that have opera windows. I'm thinking dealer installed??

I gotta wonder. There's a coupe in a local junk yard with opera windows as well. Looks like they belonged there, too. Pretty dang nice for a dealer installation.

I'm no expert but I don't see anything on that car that would designate it being a mach 1.

IMHO lose the vinyl top and portholes and it looks pretty nice. Nothing there that cannot be fixed.

It really does look like a nice car, from what the very few pictures are showing that is. I also don't believe it's a Mach 1 (the owner is also probably suffering from the "every '71-'73 is a Mach 1 syndrome"). I'd have a hard time believing it's worth $17K, though.

I've always been intrigued by the opera windows, but usually see them on coupes, never a fastback until now. I always thought those would look cool with running horses etched into the glass (running toward the front, of course).

I don't have a problem with the car itself...it's not to my taste but whatever. It's B.S. to call it a Mach 1 and B.S. to list it for $17,000. I wonder if he's claiming that the vinyl roof and opera windows are a rare option?

ad says its a sportsroof with mach 1 package and is fully documented. I would like to see the dealer invoice. Not my style but looks fairly clean.
