Differential plate decipher

Hi can any body let me know what these codes for my Differential mean

WES-T 3EB

2.75 .9 951C

I need to rebuild my diff and want to order the right parts also i take it i have a 2.75 what diference would a 3.50 make.

WES-T is a Mustang Removable Carrier Axle with a 2.75 ratio 9 inch ring gear two pinion.

3EB is a date code (year, month and week), 951C is a plant code.

That is from my 1971 Ford shop manual.

3.50s would improve your acceleration, but also rev higher at the same speed on the highway.

I can smoke the tires with my 351C 4V 2.75 rear and toploader, 3.50 would be awesome but suffer in gas mileage.

Depends on how much you want to spend on gas and how much you drive highway vs. street.

If you are mainly a streeter get the 3.50 for sure.
