Multiple Mustangs!
Saw this posted on a facebook page. Pictures of a Ford Mustang prototype with mid engine in 1966. What is odd is they have contacted all the engineers still living that worked the Mustang and none of them know anything about this project. Was for sure a Ford project the pics were found in the Ford archives.

They are seeking anyone that can shed any light on it. Looks like it would have been a fast car with the better shape up front.

With Henry Ford II wanting Ford to be the fastest in all forms of racing he probably had a secret team working on it.

This is during the time when Shelby failed with the mustang and GT-40 and Henry Ford II pulled the plug on him and handed the GT-40 over to Holman & Moody and gave them everything out of the Shelby facility when he closed it down. He brought the Shelby mustang to regular production.
