Lol, the sign comment brought back memories.

Had a friend that built rail buggies out of VW. He had tube frames and did not use the VW floor pans. At the Asheville Airport as you exit there use to be these big Welcome to North Carolina signs made out of thick aluminum. I think they took like 4 of them down before they got smart and put a a wood sign. He used them for floors in the buggies would strip the sign off so you did not know.

They do scrap the ones they take down.
