My old fan spacer is in poor condition. I see them all varying sizes. How is it measured? Overall total length or from the end to the start of the base? My measurements are 2 5/8" total length and 2 1/4" from end to the start of the base.

Thanks in advance.

I did not include that part in my measurements. And I noticed a type in my original. Overall length (not including the stub to center fan is 2 5/8" the length from the fan mounting surface to the start of the base that mounts to the water pump pulley is 2 1/4")

Jason, the 2 5/8" measurement you illustrated is how parts and service departments measured the spacer for correct applications. The part you need is C4AZ-8546-G or Motorcraft YA-75 (ID# C8AE-F). There are a few other engineering numbers but the C8AE-F is the most common. Don @ OMS or Mike @ Motorcity Mustang may have some used ones. I have posted a link to E-Bay that shows one for sale that looks to be in excellent shape.

if u have a pep boys close they also carry them is different sizes. my question is are u want to change because the fan is not in shroud correctly?? the back of fan should be at the back opening of the shroud then measure from front of water pump flange to back face of fan.. +/- !/4 inch is fine.

My current length is fine. The problem is it is cracked. (I don't feel that would be safe)
