My Car
1973 convertible with 351C and C6 trans
looking at my fan it's about half way in the shroud. meaning on engine side edge of shroud the fan blade splits. half in and half out. i want to get it inside but how far in ? maybe as close to rad as i can get? i have 4 1/2" gap. i'm going to replace the rad also. it's a small 2 core and haven't made up mind go big 2 core or 3 core. leaning large 2 core.

+1 with Sheriff41. Leave it where it is. The correct position is half in - half out, as it is now. My car has 460 in it with a shroud from a 351. This combo causes the engine to run hotter due to the fan sitting too deep in the shroud. I had to remove the original spacer and get a 1/2 inch one to try to pull it out of the shroud some. I got it back some, but it stills sits inside the shroud which causes higher temperatures during hotter weather. Don't cause yourself problems when you don't need to.
