Participate for the first time ever in local car show yesterday and actually won their clubs top pick.
I was really surprised by that because of the other Ford, GM and Chrysler products that were there.

Congrats. It's really hard to win in my area. Too many cars that have had extensive restorations. I'm usually the only Mach 1, so you'd
think I would have a better shot. The first car show I was in last year, I won best original and nothing since, even the small shows.

That first trophy is a great feeling, ain't it? Although I've gotten rid of nearly all of the 200+ awards that my various cars have received over the decades, I still have that very first trophy and it still brings a smile to my face.

That's a fine looking car. Here's hoping that your first trophy is the first of many! 🏆

Nicely done. I can see why you won that award. Very nicely done. Your 73 really pops with the shade of blue. Our 73 is a bit demure looking in comparison, with its original Gold Glow paint. When it was ordered a protection group package was included, which has rubber inserts along the front fenders and doors - which was quite popular on cars back then. I feel it detracts from the otherwise gorgeous lines of the vehicle. I do not dare remove them for two reasons. It may be they were attached using drilled hoes and clips, as opposed to just double sided tape, and the paint under those strips may be darker from not become sun faded over the years. I far prefer no bumper strips, or to have the applique/decal black side stripes along with a blackout NACA/NASA hood with dual Ram Air inlets. No matter, deure looking or not, it is an awesome pony to cut around in.

Thank you Mr Hale I do like your car as well. I'm a subscriber to your YouTube channel and have watched your's and other's over the past 2 1/2 years I have been working on the car. This last thing I did was take your advice and add an overflow tank to the radiator.
