Getting along on member sites is easy if you just remember what we were all taught a long time ago; "if you can't say something nice...go look at porn for a while." ha ha ha!

...What I can't stand is the constsnt barrage of PMs and "warnings" from the mods who tell me to cool it because they get angry that I don't agree with thier opinion.

And the childish threats and expljcit and vulgar insults and name calling in the PMs is ridiculous.

The mods havd an ego-driven power-tripping clique gking on, and I want no part of that.
Damn Kit. What is that! On behalf of the mod team, let me say there have been VERY few times where members haven't self policed their posts...three times to be exact. What makes our community great is that we really are interested in a common goal without all the drama that's seen on other forums.

You came along with a lot of good knowledge which is fantastic, but you also injected a fair amount of discord on the playing field as can be seen by a few of the members making reference to butting heads with you in their posts above during your two month stint. I've called you out on it with a couple of 5-yard penalty flags for being offsides in the game and now you kick over the water table and throw the ball at at the ref as you storm off the field. Seems like you want to be kicked out of the game to me. I hate to see anyone leave with so much talent but the game will go on. We have a great collaborative knowledge base among the remaining team members where all questions we're being answered and many winning touchdowns before you came. That will continue to be the case going forward.

Best of luck with your future endeavors. Should you decide to stay any future posts that you make will be reviewed by the refs before being allowed back on the field (published), at least for a time until we feel you aren't sowing seeds of discord. Sorry, but you brought this on yourself.

Thanks for all the support from the "good ones" here, and to the ton of positive PMs I recieved. I have no issues with anyone disagreeing with me about anything...I kind of like the give-and-take, thats how we learn new things.

Thanks to the rest of you! You can always PM me if they don't deletd my account.

Have fun!

;) Well said! No one likes to be hassled or treated like a child. I have learned to stay out of cliques and club's because most have a huge chip on their shoulder!

I'm always sorry to see members leave but each person has to decide what is best for them. If for what ever reason the site results in anything but enjoyment, it would be time to move on.

I for one will never argue with any of you guys (I have very little knowledge on our cars) I'm just a novice trying to keep part of our history alive and on the road. I can only share my first hand experiences with my 71.

Jim

Kit,

Come on man, hang around! So you had a little spat with someone - let it go. There aren't too many original owners of 429 Mach 1's out there. We all value your opinion - whether we agree with it or not. You were just coming around to my way of thinking on the seat material too :)

Reconsider and stay around.
Guys, here's the deal: Steve hit the nail on the head. Kit and some others had some differences of opinion and all handled it poorly - simple as that. For the sake of maintaining 7173Mustangs spiritual creaminess, Don65Stang has been busier than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest trying to plug the holes and keep the situation from sinking any further - and from my perspective, has been doing a helluva job... without a lot of cooperation.

There is no Third Reich Moderator club, or clique, or anything of the sort - just a few of us trying to keep the peace when the ducks get out of line. There is however, two sides to every story, and you've seen/heard Kit's - the reason you haven't seen the rest of it is because it's simply not worth repeating.

As we all know and have observed, this site has had extraordinarily good luck in staying friendly without unruly members causing trouble, because we simply haven't had to deal with anything like that - mostly in-part because of the quality of our membership - you guys make this place what it is... and every single one of you are valued members. ::thumb::

I hope Kit (or anybody else) decides not to leave over simple & petty differences or disagreements... but if that's the case, then it is what it is, and best of luck.

Soapbox is now stowed.

Well Kit, ya gotta give respect to get respect. It can be tough in a forum where all we have is the written word and not many of us trained to write with proper emotion. For those of us who are type A personalities responses that are meant to clarify or present a differing point of view can come off as agressive or argumentative. I know when I feel strongly about something or maybe I'm a little pissed hesitating before I hit the post button is generallly wise.

I have not disagreed with anything you said of a technical nature, sometimes how it seemed you said it has left me scratching my head.

I think it's really cool you've had your car that long and that many miles. You do seem to have aquired a solid knowledge base and could contribute well here. If you have to leave so be it. Have a great time with your car and enjoy your life. We have worked hard to keep this a friendly place where ideas can be exchanged in a decent manner. There is no need to be negative toward the mods or other members.

See ya.

I've not been around for about 3 days and I was surprised at all the feathers flying when I checked in this morning. So I sat down and tried to plow through all 623 unread posts and didn't come up with any smoking gun. I see some feathers got ruffled in the Rarest Option thread and it escalated from there. I joined this club when there were a handful of posters, and I haven't seen such a pissing match since I joined. This site has always been about respect and self-control. If someone says something you disagree with, go ahead and disagree but don't become disrespectful.

Virtual conversations are complicated. Sometime using the emoticons will substitute for live facial expressions and body language. Use them liberally. :)
