Just so you guys know, the State of California has ruled the BERSA is unfit for sale in California.

Actually, the way it works is every manufacturer has to submit/perform/bend over to the state gun lobby to get their guns approved. And, let us say you have a BLUE GUN, but also have a Stainless gun that is identical in every way. Both guns must be approved separately. And approval is given for 12 month time periods. So when your time is up, you have to get approval again.

So, unfortunately, we are stuck having to purchase high priced firearms here.

Hi Point only sells a couple of compacts.

But if you are a criminal....

Yet one more reason I love my state. Sorry to hear about these outrageous policies you have to deal with James.

Is there a run on guns in the socialist north? Here, the shelves are empty.

Not that I think there is any rush.

Here in the Northwest there is a shortage of pistols, a severe shortage of conceal and back ups pistols. Applications for conceal permits are up 300% since recent gun control disucssions. By the way California is one of the States that doesn't honor our conceal permits.

Stopped by Cabelas last week to see what they had in and the wait time just to talk to one of the guys behind the gun counter was over 45 minutes (you get numbers), he told me the good conceal guns were selling the day they came in.

So to answer your question...yep there's a huge run on guns up here.

never liked her but, may change my mind just a little

http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2013/01/16/lady-gaga-under-fire-over-assault-rifle-bra-costume-used-in-concert/?intcmp=features

picked this up tonight copy and pasted specs Bersa 9mm ultra compact pro

THUNDER 9MM - ULTRA COMPACT PRO SA/DA.
Bersa do make good guns for the price ...Alot of them up here.." well use to be"

One brand to watch out for is lorcin! Run for your life if you are offered one in nice shape for cheap....Every Lorcin i seen destroyed it self at the range...I shot 2 of them..and wished i never did..Lucky we didnt get hurt..One the firing pin exploded..Other one trigger broke...Both guns the mag would fail to stay in the bottom once you shot a round....Box bragged Lorcin was the worlds most affordable quality handgun..Bahahaha...I went online and i seen some Lorcins that exploded in half after 2 clips or less...I was lucky...lol

Lorcin Pistols. Lorcin Engineering made “junk guns” in the U. S. In 1996 Lorcin announced it

was filing for bankruptcy to protect itself from at least 18 pending liability suits. One case

alleged that a Lorcin pistol contained a defective safety that failed to properly engage, allowing

the pistol to be fired when the safety appeared to be on. It was also alleged the gun had an

inconsistent trigger pull that varied between three and fifteen pounds which also makes it prone

to unintentional discharge. Many of Lorcin’s guns are of such poor quality they would be

ineligible for importation under the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ (ATF) “sporting

purpose” test.

Those guns are still floating around...By the ton...Stay away from them.

No or very very little ammo anywhere here. The police forces around the country are low on ammo as well. The dedicated ammo plants for the fed gov are cranking out rounds as usual...something like a million rounds per month. They have litterally billions of rounds in the storage bunkers and I've seen with my own eyes hundreds and hundreds of thousands of M16s in long term storage crates.

No or very very few pistols available for purchase and then it's only full size pistols by Taurus and similar.

My guess is at least 6 months before we see the manufacturers begin to start to catch up with either. Probably closer to a year would be a better guess, maybe two.

I'll just leave this here...

Just wished I had bought some 223 before I actually needed it....

Gentlemen, When things calm a bit, I strongly suggest diverting some of our car money to our personal defense and the defense of those we care about. The notion that someone else can defend us is clearly documented as being false. Become proficient in the effective and safe use of firearms. If your state permits concealed carry, get the permit, get the ammunition, get a concealable hand gun, and carry. Oppose any further erosion of our rights by contacting local, state, and federal representatives to voice your opinions. Vote for those who support your rights. It is not just about our right to own firearms. It is about our rights being eroded on many levels under the pretext that we are trading freedom for security to be provided by a central entity. While there is evidence that we are ceding our freedoms, there is no evidence that security, physical or economic, is being enhanced. It has been, and will continue to be, up to us as individuals to care for ourselves. To believe otherwise is to engage in pleasurable delusion. Just one member's opinion. Chuck

I love Mega and Aero Precision. I hope to have the option of building one in a few years.

Amen to that Chuck. The police aren't there to protect us, they are there to clean up the mess and catch the people that did it.

+1. Absolutely!!!

If you're interested in obtaining a conceal permit expect long delays in obtaining the needed background checks, there's been a rush on applications.

I waited 5 min at the counter this morning and bought a Springfield XD 40SC. There were a few still around for CC. Just not many of the pocket guns. Outdoor Outfitters had some, however.

No uppers trying to get some but no luck.

I sold 2 machineguns in order to fund the purchase of my '73 Convertible.

I figued I should sell them whil I still can, and I had only used them maybe 3 times in the past 2 years.

Sadly, the rest of my gun collection was lost in a terrible boating accident last summer.

I would rather lose them in a "terrible boating accident" than a "terrible government accident".
