[Scott Mach 1]

I am new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself to get started. 

I have a 1971 Mach1 that I have owned since 1987 (second car bought) and starting to restore.

The car had been garage kept all these years but has been put on the back burner with life taking over. 

I am in the process of restoring the car with my now 15 year old son to get his hands dirty and earn what someday will be his to enjoy.

I will have many questions and need help finding parts to complete the project.

We removed the interior for inspection and found some rust on the passenger floor and the lower cowl where the heater box goes through. 

Ordering parts tomorrow to get started.  

I will be in search of a power window bezel and the small red BRAKE lens in the dash. Just started looking for those but no hurry until I am ready to put the interior back in. I have had several discussions with a local Mustang parts dealer (Ohio Mustang Supply) and he seems like a super guy with lots of knowledge. He is within driving distance and I am excited to talk restoration with him.

Father son projects are bond creators.

I have 3 sons and all 3 began their driving phase with a Mustang project with me.

Here is one example of a the result of the project. Son's pony was a 1968 GT, 390-4v. Mine was a 1971 M Code, 351-4v.

I take my 6-year-old always with me when something is to do on our cars - today we will release the rear axle of the Mustang  :thumb:

He asks me every day if we could do something on it or if we had something else to work - a good man  :heart:
