This is a donar motor so im not worried about using this block but for information sake i would like to know what may have caused this hole?

Yep! just part of the casting on a D0AE-L block. Just checked my spare block and it's the same, nothing to worry about. A bit ugly, but there it is. Don't know if it's the same on earlier blocks, "J" for example.
