Holly Carburetor

I have the following carburetor on my 72 mustang

0799

I would like to know CFM of this carburetor. I have done google searches but do not find any specifications. I am hoping one of you might be able to help with some details on this carb.

Also, I was wondering if I should go back to the original carb for this vehicle. I am not sure what came with it originally but I hope someone here might let me know.

I am asking because the holly needs rebuilt and I am debating with myself if I should rebuild it or get the original carb for the car.

It's not in the Holley numerical listing. What are the numbers stamped into the throttle blades?

I will have to remove the carb to look at the throttle blades. Here is a picture of the numbers.

My info says that's a model 2300 carb. Nothing about CFM.

If that’s a 2300, it’s either a 275 or 325 CFM. To tell, measure the carb bore. If the diameter is 1 1/8", the carb is the 275 CFM. If the opening is 1 3/16", it is the 350CFM carb.

I measured the bore size this evening and it is 1-11/16.

Well, the most inexpensive route to go is to rebuild it. Don't know how? LEARN, Holley carbs are the traditional Ford carb, going back to 1957, the first 4160 4v was standard equipment on the '57 T-Bird , the Dominator carb was designed for Ford's Boss efforts, and standard Holleys are one of the simplest carbs to disassemble and re-assemble. Relish the fact that, every Chevy out there running a Holley is running a carb originally designed for a Ford. Consider it a Moral Imperative to learn and not be afraid of Holleys, so you can earn your "Car Guy " status. Follow instructions. Not in the instructions, is the fact that most often, the "squareish' cover plates for the power valve and accelerator pump get over tightened and warp. Always surface those on a flatplate with emery cloth, and you'll not have leaks. It's carburetion 101.

I looked at the butterfly in the bore and it is marked with a "215"
