Hi guys,

Should the hood bumpers (there are 2 on each side I guess, my car had only 1...) like this:

Or like this?

In the first case, my hood isn't touching if I saw that correctly. In the second case the ones closer to the windshield were pushing up the hood a lot.

What should they be like?

Thanks!

Vincent.

Wow thanks for asking that question - it's been bugging me since I had the car painted. I put the new ones on correctly apparently but really wasn't certain and now I am!

Now you make me think about the hood bumpers and getting pics on here since they mount different from each other. One has the nut as part of the core support and the other is a square hole where the nut is attached by some kind of 'blind nut' brace/clip that actually holds the nut in the square hole. Not something homemade and it appears the support was made that way (the square is perfect and clean) but I've never seen anything like it.

I think you are referring to the nuts that the round hood bumpers screw into. They are pierce nuts or some call cage nuts and were the factory correct for our cars. Pic has what you are talking about I had not put the bumpers in when made. There is a smaller version for the battery hold down that hooks to the inner fender. If you have aftermarket it won't be there.
