My Car
71 mustang grande
Yesterday my mechanic replaced the gear box to the mustang and when he got done i told him to find the antifreeze smell that i could not locate, after some research we discovered that the intake gasket is leaking, since he will have to take the intake off i was thinking to maybe install an aluminium intake , a 4 bbl carburator, a set of good looking head covers and clean up the engine a little by deleting the AC since i can't justifie the money needed to replace it, am i on the right track? the engine is a 302 and it sounds very healty i may even get a set of headers to open it up a little more.I tought about getting the Edelbrock 2927 kit but the engine is too faitful the way it is and don't want to mess anything up, sounds like a good plan? ideas? what some of you have done?

Thanks!

Lupe

Yes Upgrade!

I built a 69 302 with:

.30 over bore flat top TRW forged pistons

shot peened rods w/ARP Bolts

steel crank

road race solid lifter cam

DBL Roller chain

port/polished heads/screw in rocker studs w/girdle

Cross Ram 2-4BBL intake

Headers

MSD Ignition

I could never get that car to hook up and it only did 14C @ 114MPH in 1/4 MI

with street tires...But it was a screaming small block!

I gave that car to my sister when I got a 73 Firebird running a BBC

Hillborn Injected on Alcohol that was a 9.90 car. (Big Tire)

Sorry for rambling was the good Ole Days!
