I placed a Order with CJ poiny (first time) and everything came through great.

I orderd a few things, and out of the 2 things was 2 cans of 71-73 Med Blue interior Lacquer.

the color was so far off it was almost a Very Dark mid night Blue. (Accumatch brand)

I called Cj Pony up and I got no where, now I'm stuck with 2 cans of paint I cant use, $15.99 per can.

in the Past I have orderd my paints through Mustangs Unlimited and it was Rambow brand for $10.99 per can and it is a closer match to the orig color.

The guy in the Cust support for CJ Pony was nice but not helpfull at all, I asked if I could return the 2 cans, and he straight out said "NO"..

one Can is sealed not even open!!.

thanks for letting me Vent, I'm very unhappy with this.

Thats too bad Iyman,Someone should stand behind the products & give refunds if the customer isn't satisfied.I just got a crapload of stuff from M.U.,they gave me a 10% of card which was a big help on a big order + free shipping ,they are the closest parts place to me so the shipping is cheap +fast.Hows the garage project + mustang damage working out?

I always order from M.U its only a 45 min ride to them for big parts,

but I always price hunt, like I just orderd a Dash Pad from Don @ OMS he had the best price, but I have orderd from him in past years with great succsess :)

this was my first from CJ, everything I orders was great no issues, just the blue paint, at least refund and have me return the unopen can !!.

Bought some interior paint number 16049, medium blue metalic.

The first paint was too dark as you describe. So I ordered a couple

of cans from NPD, 16049. This time a perfect match but after a

couple of years in the sun the center console paint began to blister

and peel. You would think two cans of 16049 would be the same color.

There are two different paints of the same color for hard plastic vs soft parts.

I have had good and not so good experiences with CJ, but have never had a

problem returning and item and getting a quick refund. There are interstate

commerce laws about shipping paint. Recently bought some muffler clamps

from CJ simply because none of my other vendors carried them. You can buy

generic clamps at any auto parts stores but the ones from CJ are Concours correct

with the FoMoCo stamp and phosphate nuts. So at least my clamps won't

loosen in four years and cause a leak.

Sorry to hear about the paint problems, I've had good luck with CJ ponyparts. Recently ordered the the trim pieces for the rear honey comb panel, both were dented in shipment, I though OK, here we go. Called CJ ponyparts "after 7PM" to leave a message, a guy named JR Swinchock picked up in customer care, I explained my problem, JR said send him an email with a picture of the damaged trim and he would take care of it, so I sent him the pic. An hour later got an email that replacement ones would be mailed out the next day, which they were.

My wife called CJ, and she spoke with a girl there, the Girl is working with me to get the proper shade of blue,

I e-mailed her a few Pictures and she will get back to me with samples.

I guess it was just the person I spoke with earlier, I'm much happier now.

Attached is a sample of the colors.

I hope mine is right. I ordered it from Laurel Mountain Mustang. They have been pretty good so far and I have ordered a lot of parts from them. If it is off I will be posting. I just have to get my damn car back first so that I can start on the interior. The builder says it should definately be this week ......but I have heard that for a couple of months now. :s I just went to the garage and mine is AccuMatch brand, I'm crossing my fingers.

thats what mine is "Accumatch" L-16049 (too dark)

I will let you know what they match it to.

the sample I sent was the inside and out side of the glovebox cover (see above)

the color I recived was 10+ shades darker, even the girl I spoke with said after I e-mail her the samples "WOW now thats the wrong color"

My car is bright blue metallic, which is the original color, I wonder if that makes a difference. I have vinyl dye and lacquer paint both in the V-16409 and L-16409 respectively. Now you have me worried. I guess I will see when the car finally gets here, but of course I have had them for about a year so returning them is probably out of the question.

Suppliers don't realize that some parts, or in this case paint will not be used for quite a while due to the wait created by the restoration.

I did return some frame ties that I ordered about six months before the builder got around to installing them and they agreed to give me a credit because they would not work. I ordered Global West ones and they worked great.

Oh well, we will see. It better match all of the TMI sport interior that I have waiting to install as well.

one min they are ready to help and resolve the issue, and now I am getting the run around of a lifetime.

I was just informed that I should have orderd 1970 med blue paint not the 1971-73 paint!!! the manager said my car is the wrong color for its year!!! its the orig interior!!!

and they don't know yet if I can return the paint because it was not a shipping issue, it was an ordering issue, and if they take it back I have to pay for the retun potage ($7.50) for a $11 can of paint,

I think this is my First and last order though CJ pony.

I usual order though M.U. and I never had a order issue or return issue in 12 years.

Ohh well, thanks for letting me vent agian..

the attached pic shows my orig Glove Box door (unpainted orig) and the center comsole I painted with the paint I recived. now which is the right 1971-1973 Med Blue Matalic??
