So this is a 2 in 1 kinda post!

1st: I'm new to the site, and want to say Wassup!

Just purchased my grandfather's '72 Mach 1, but my first ride is a '68 coupe! Yes, I still have it. It always seemed weird when people say "Wish I kept my old hot rod", idk, I'm a bonified Gearhead I guess!

2nd: My trim code on the Mach 1 is AR, and the website I found with a listing of plenty if not all trim codes doesn't have it. The interior is black now but I'm guessing it was originally green, the original exterior is Dark Metallic Green.

Any ideas?!?!

Welcome to the site! I did some digging - no AR code listed for a Mustang. The only AR trim code I can see is a for a Torino/Ranchero. In that case AR is Medium Green Corinthian vinyl. Is this AR trim code shown on your door data plate? If you can get a photo of that post it up here - very interesting. Maybe a mistake at the factory?

Thanks man! Yes, I got the info from the tag on the driver door. Just wanted to double check and make sure it's a legit Mach 1! Also, the two vertical plastic pieces that are on both sides of the radio, A/C & vents is faded and look at one time were some shade of green. The rest of the interior is black. But I assume someone changed it at some point in time. One more thing, the door panels have wood grain and vertical pull handles, is that a Mach 1 exclusive or has it been added too?!

I'll post pics when I get back home on Monday.

the info I have in the sales book, is as Don said

AR= Standard All Vinyl Medium Green

and it was available with the Following exterior Colors 5A and 4C

5A= Pewter Metallic

4C= Ivy Glow

but your Code is 4Q which is drk Green metallic, so the car must have been a special order.

That's interesting, thanks alot!

It's a Light Green Met. (Grabber Lime) paint job now. My granddad just painted it last year but someday I'll repaint it back to the original Dark Green paint scheme! I like it better!!

Interesting, my car has the AR trim code with the 4F paint code. So if I am reading that correct my interior should be black, white or ginger?
