Seen this 73 Mach 1 and stopped by and knocked on the door. No one was home so I left a note. It's a real Mach 1 and it's a Q-code so it's a Cobra Jet. See the owner calls me back.

talked to the owner today. he has owned the car since he was 17 and is 43 now. he is thinking about selling the car. he will get back to me and let me know. see what happens

If he decides to keep it invite him to our forum...who knows, this may be motivation for him to reengage and fix it up and another one will be saved. ;)

Nice car...looks a lot like mine.

One thing I noticed is that you said it is a Q code car but the hood says it has ram air. You could NOT get ram air on the 4V cars in 73 so something may be amiss??

Jeff

HE ADDED THE RAM AIR TO IT. I LOOKED AT THE VIN WHEN I TOOK THE PIC SO IT IS A Q CODE

Dang STOLE my idea to put up a thread to show you guys

Out on business this week .... taking a tour through a small town I spotted the front fender ......put on the WHOA. Sharp left turn abruptly left me sitting in front of this 71 Convertible 4spd 351 RAM AIR car...... I knocked violently on the door waiting for the poor sucker to show up....damn its Christmas...doesnt he know he needs to SELL this???? Last one I saw "in person" was 20 years ago...which started this whole mess!!!!

RPMCarter - Good find. This may be worth re-visiting to communicate with the owner. Looks like it has been modded a little but it sure sits good (from the front...LOL).

Keep us posted!

A convertible done up in a 20-year-old-style Boss tribute.

Not quite the best sounding "old restoration" to peer into, but it sure makes for one hell of a neck-snapper when you see that Boss hood just languishing in the proverbial random driveway of old car finds.

Wow if I didnt know better .... you/re challenging my knowledge of 351 ram air convertibles? In 1971, 149,682 Mustangs were built of which 6,121 were convertibles. 590 were built with the 351 CID, languishing as the old restoration of RAM AIR cars!!!!
