A convertible done up in a 20-year-old-style Boss tribute.

Not quite the best sounding "old restoration" to peer into, but it sure makes for one hell of a neck-snapper when you see that Boss hood just languishing in the proverbial random driveway of old car finds.

LOL ... I love it.... CAT GOT YOUR TONGUE? Quite a few folks out there with TRIBUTE cars!

Wow if I didnt know better .... you/re challenging my knowledge of 351 ram air convertibles?
No, I'm just saying that the Boss 351 blackout on the hood is not original. It's not the typical, tapering Ram Air blackout treatment, indicating the car has been to the paint shop once.

Not that it's a problem. As I said before, spotting a '71-73 in a driveway causes a certain immediate rush of adrenaline with all of us (heck, I spotted mine under a car cover from 100 feet away and instantly knew what it was, even though I had the back end view of the car), but when one spots the Boss hood blackout treatment before anything else, that's skip-a-heartbeat territory - just in case it's a real Boss 351.

Oh absolutely the car has been repainted! Originally this is an original brown (not technical name) ginger trim car.

The repaint was the decision of the owner... his choice! I suppose I should have been TECHNICAL and fully described the car but sorry I savor being a SPECIFIC AZZZHOLE for work. I personally like the original design color concept, and he also ruined the original matching Ginger interior with a dye job. I think the brown is a beautiful color and he changed it to meet his desire. If this car turns out to be a fake I'll give him a LOT of credit for using ALL the right parts for the RAM AIR and the 4 speed including the proper suspension.

We'll see, he's sending the serial tomorrow for me to vett its authenticity

UPDATE..... well I guess he did in fact find all the right parts!!! The car is a 302 car!!!! He wasnt pissed but found my thrashings a bit interesting... poor guy thought he had the real thing. OOPS!!!

Lots of potential for a really cool looking car but I'm passing. I dont buy cars often but when I do I buy the good ones.
