Mach1 Sports interior group

Hello everyone, I would like to know if in 71, the "5x" trim code indicate the Mach1 Sports interior group & if it contains the instrumentation group as standard equipment? In 72-73 the "Gx" trim code was also for Mach1 Sports interior group? Thanks

For 1971, the Mach 1 Sports interior was an oddity. The tach was not part of it, you had to order the Instrumentation Group as well.

Ford fixed that in 1972 and incorporated the tach into the Mach 1 Sports Interior option.
