Got a new pair and installed yesterday.

HOW HARD IS IT to get the distance from the bushing to the

ball joint pin right!

After installing the new Moog parts I had 5 degrees positive Camber on

both sides and the eccentrics were in the old spots!!!

I think the Moog part dynamic is 1/4 to 3/8 in shorter than the original

ford part!

Just Venting...

I paid a few dollars more to get Moog parts as I thought they

would be better quality. Bless my Longacre Camber/Caster gauge

to get things put right... at home.

All new front suspension WILL however help you sleep at night.

Regards

Paul

PS: Close enough = NOT

Make sure the Camber is exactly the same side to side or

the car will pull to the side with more Camber. Lesson Learned.

You have every right to be pissed off. I would be. Moog has always been considered quality parts but in this day and age more and more big name car parts are being made elsewhere for companies like Moog. I wouldn't be at all surprised if your part came from Mexico or China.

rocket366,

I have never had any trouble with the Moog lower control arms. I do recommend the Mustang 67-73, Ford/Mercury 66-77 - Eccentric Eliminator and Hardware Set from TCP. Once set, you should not have to have them adjusted again, unless you replacement another suspension component.

I have always ponyed up for the better Moog parts in the past. But after talking to one of my buddy's that owns his own garage, "the word on the street" is that Moog got bought out by another foreign company and the quality has went to **** in the recent past. Not sure how true this is but that's just what I have heard lately.

I can confirm that Moog in the last 10 years has had quality issues. As a Mechanic that works on all different automotive makes I have found that Napa chassis parts exceed Moog for quality (for now). As many have said Moog was the gold standard at one time. China is really ruining many once respected companies. My wife and I attempt to boycott all products from China (No easy task). I have been to Wal Mart (Motorcraft filter sale) exactly once 16 years ago and never went back.

Had a similar problem at Ford dealer I worked at. BCA and Timken bearings were considered the gold standard of bearings. So if we needed a bearing that was out of stock or a non Ford application we would call NAPA and specify those brands. Got to the point if the boxes were marked "Made In China" they were JUNK! Inside retainers made to hold the roller bearings were plastic and would often break, and the bearings would roar or rattle no matter how well they were adjusted. Same with the Moog products. Got to the point we told NAPA not to send anything to us that was marked "Made In China"! And now for the disclaimer...sorry if this offends anyone from China. But as the Parts Manager I caught a lot of Hell from the shop techs claiming we were trying to starve them to death because of comebacks on these JUNK parts. Just as Ron said, China has ruined the reputation of many once respected companies.

I have to add - it is the company that sends the specs to China.

If they want cheap - they can get it.

If they want a decent part and pay to have it made - they can get that to.

it's not China ruining the reputations - it's corporate greed.

I do not question the existence of "corporate greed" but as consumers have the power to promote the resurgence of manufacturing in America through what we are willing to buy and of course what we are willing to pay. Unfortunately most people want inexpensive products no matter the quality.

I just picked up some Moog ball joints and they're definitely USA made, so I'm happy with them for now.

I installed moog strut rod bushings a few weeks ago and they were usa made as well. They looked like a very quality part to me not sure about the lower control arms. I did notice when I swapped out my lower control arms a while back ago the car had ALOT more positive camber and I had to pretty much go full adjust on the eccentrics to get it back in to spec.

YUP!

I had to go full adjust on the side with a Moog UCA to get minus1/4D Camber.

The other side with factory UCA has more adjustment to go at minus 1/4D Camber.

Aftermarket parts suck but better than no parts.

Cheers

Paul

I have found that with Moog and other manufacturers in general the country of origin varies by the part. There is always a chance of getting your hands on old inventory from when everything was made domestically.
