I got this 73 Grande about 10 days ago. The last time it was on the road was in 2022. The engine is a 351 Cleveland. The floorpans are rotten and I am going to replace them.

This first year will be about structure and safety. No real hot rod stuff at first.

I have been a BMW guy most of my life, bit this thing really caught my eye.

I live outside Dallas TX.

Hope Yall are having fun.

Andy

Everything in the 1970s had to have wood paneling.. I grew up in a house that had it.. plus my Dad had a "Country Squire" pinto... so it's the wood that makes it good..

I kept trippin the breaker for my aircompressor and knew it would not work tryin to weld off of a 15 amp 110 circuit... so .. pry open the wallet...

I have been either captured by work or.. lacking in smarts (my shortcomings) I was able to source a place for shielding gas and find the time to go get it. I actually found that the Northern Tool place here has a cylinder exchange (newbie ignorance on my part).. the cost was very easy to stomache.

I sure wish that there was a place I could get the "under rear seat" panels for the 73. I have found whole pans which include that part but you pay over 400 bux to get that one piece shipped...
Would anyone have suggestions?

How much do you need? I can look at the coupe partscar and cut it out if it's good.

Both sides have som Swiss Cheese to them. You can see from the rear of the torque boxes back. Sorry if the description isn't that good..

I'll have a look at them today.

I think I am actually learning a little. I am NOT saying that these are pretty, but I know that they're improving
