Ok I got the brake booster back yesterday from Booster Dewey and was going to put back on today. I always test anything with a diaphragm with a vacuum brake bleeder pump. Fuel pump, heater controls etc.. I hooked up to the booster they had put new guts in and new connection and seal around the connection. I cannot get any vacuum on the booster. Is that normal????

I for sure do not want to put on and it not work big pain to get on and off.

I did call but they do not work on Saturday so will be Monday before I hear back.

Running out of time fast.

Headed back to hone the master cylinder and put new guts in it also. Will check back later.

Cheers,

It should work. Make sure the check valve is working. If you're using a hand held vacuum pump you'll likely need to pump it for two or three minutes before you get a reading on the pump. Let it set for half an hour, or so, and then pump it again, see if you get the same reading on the hand help pump gauge as you had when you quit pumping it the first time.

I can get nothing on the hand pump and cannot hook up the AC vacuum pump no way to connect it.

Did you check the booster check valve, to make sure it is working? Also, when you place your finger over the tube on the hand pump does it hold vacuum when you pump it? If yes to both I'm inclined to agree that there is something wrong.

One more question, are the push rods free to move and not held in by packing materials?
